Synopsis

We open up on a busy Saturday morning. The sun has warmed the air. Hordes of people flock through the streets with shopping bags and screaming children in tow. A sea of smoking vehicles floods the main road. Horns beep and tempers flare.

Amid the heat and frustration, two long rows of cars linger outside a huge five-storey car park. At the front of the queue a trendy sports car and a mundane saloon wait patiently for their turn.

A ridiculously handsome couple with good looks and clothes to die for populate the sports car. The woman flicks the hair from her flawless face and sighs as she realises the car park is almost full. She is Nimble Girl, the woman of everyone’s dreams, be they male or female.

In the mundane saloon sits a noisy family of four. The two parents sit in front sweating from exhaustion. The husband ignores the insane racket being made. He is Smart Guy, an everyday man with more brains than brawn. He looks at a giant LED board above the car park. It shows there are only two spaces left. He groans under his breath. Glancing across to the other car he accidentally catches Nimble Girl’s eye. For a brief second Smart Guy is smitten by her beauty. Nimble Girl smiles knowingly and looks away pretending she hasn’t noticed. However, someone else has. Smart Guy’s wife. She clears her throat rather loudly, pulling his gaze away from Nimble Girl. He gives his wife a nervous grin; she returns the gesture with a furrowed brow.

Suddenly the LED board starts to buzz. The loud droning startles everyone in the two cars. They all look up just in time to see the big yellow number two click to one space left. A tense moment fills the air. The passenger doors of the two cars slowly open. Nimble Girl and Smart Guy get out. They begin to size each other up. A competition is forming. All of a sudden, another car races up to the car park. It screeches to a halt behind the others. The driver slams his fist on the horn. The sound acts like a starter pistol and the two competitors tear off into the car park to find the last remaining space. Their two cars following close behind.

The competitors leap over walls and railings like athletes. Their speed increases as they run toward the upper levels of the car park. Nothing gets in their way. All obstacles, be they cars, people or concrete walls are cleared with ease and agility.

Smart Guy begins to loose his lead against Nimble Girl. She looks back and smiles. In a split second Smart Guy changes tact and decides to take the stairs. But a man with huge shopping bags blocks his way. Undeterred, Smart Guy bounces up the steps using the banister and walls. Nimble Girl sprints along unaware of Smart Guy’s clever manoeuvre. All the while, the two cars slowly move their way through the packed car park.

Nimble Girl finally finds the precious last parking space. She sees Smart Guy emerge from the stairs. They both pound forward in a last bid attempt to get to the empty space. But all of a sudden another car speeds round the corner and heads straight for Nimble Girl. Without thinking she leaps into the air and runs over the roof of the moving car like a 100m sprinter. She hits the ground and slides into the space leaving Smart Guy to bite the dust.

Clambering to her feet, she looks up to see her boyfriend driving toward them. Smart Guy’s wife is close behind. Nimble Girl quickly starts to back her boyfriend into the space, but something stops her..
